Paint Atlanta Purple

In recognition of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, we actively engaged by initiating a city-wide campaign. With the backing of Mayor Andre Dickens and the City of Atlanta, companies joined the cause by lighting their buildings in purple and encouraging their employees to wear purple to work. Particularly noteworthy contributions came from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Google, both of which illuminated their exterior lights in purple, significantly demonstrating their commitment to raising awareness about domestic violence.

Walk a Mile in Their Shoes

As part of “Paint Atlanta Purple”, we held our annual 5K run/1 Mile walk along the Atlanta Beltline. This event, certified by USATF and recognized as an official AJC Peachtree Road Race Qualifier, not only raised awareness about domestic violence but also fostered a unique experience. Walkers were paired with survivors who shared their stories, providing participants with the opportunity to truly "walk a mile in their shoes."

Saving Survivors on the Green

To ensure our golf community was not overlooked, we established a philanthropic golf tournament as part of the "Paint Atlanta Purple" initiative. This endeavor not only raised funds but also raised awareness about domestic violence, all while enjoying a round of golf!

NEW!! Art Therapy Program

This year we introduced our art therapy program to assist survivors in navigating trauma and intricate emotions through artistic expression. Each week, clients engage in diverse art projects, fostering healthy outlets for stress relief, trauma healing, and acquiring valuable tools and coping techniques for the future.

National Recognition

Our Founder and CEO, Alma G. Davis, was invited to be featured as an expert on domestic violence issues in interviews on national platforms such as USA Today and Roland Martin Unfiltered.

Global Assistance

This year marked a significant milestone as we assisted our 1st international client. Collaborating with the South Korean Embassy, we were able to facilitate the return of an individual experiencing domestic violence, back to the United States. Upon their arrival, we facilitated essential services, including food, clothing, housing, transportation and employment opportunities.
